Australian Health and Management Institute Responsibility for Delivering Australian Qualifications:

The Australian Government oversees Registered Training Organisations to ensure that quality standards of education and awarding qualifications meet the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework. Students study full time mixed mode of delivery that integrates:

  • scheduled hours for face to face classes (20 hours per week during term time)
  • additional self-study to revise and reinforce areas of knowledge, assessment research and assessment preparation and completion

The Diploma of Leadership and Management reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.

They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management consists of twelve (12) units of competency, comprising 4 core units and 8 elective units, in accordance with the packaging rules.

Although there are no stated entry requirements in the BSB Training Package for entry into BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management, international students must be 18 years of age or above and provide evidence the following published entry requirements as stated below:  

Academic Entry Requirements

  • Year 12 or equivalent;

English Language Entry Requirements:

  • IELTS score 6.0 minimum (no lower than 5.5 in each band) or equivalent
  • No study gap

Graduates at this level will have the skills for specialised work. Job roles and titles may vary but can include:

After successfully achieving BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management, candidates may undertake BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management

Students that successfully complete all 12 units of competency as stated in the Course Structure will be issued with BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management. This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)

Students that complete some but not all of the units of competency as stated in the Course Structure may be issued with a Statement of Attainment. It will identify only those units of competence that have been completed as part of the qualification and recognised nationally under the AQF.
