Students study full time mixed mode of delivery that integrates:

  • scheduled hours for face to face classes (15 hours per week during term time)
  • scheduled hours for on-line learning (5 hours per week during term time)
  • additional self-study to revise and reinforce areas of knowledge, assessment research and assessment preparation and completion

The Diploma of Information Technology provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to administer and manage information and communications technology (ICT) support in small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) using a wide range of general ICT technologies. Persons working at this level provide a broader rather than specialised ICT support function, applying a wide range of higher-level technical skills in ICT areas such as networking, IT support, database development, programming and web development.

ICT60215 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology consists of twelve (12) units of competency, comprising 5 core units and 7 elective units, in accordance with the packaging rules.

Although there are no stated entry requirements in the ICT Training Package for entry into ICT60215 Advanced Diploma of Network Security, international students must be 18 years of age or above and provide evidence the following published entry requirements as stated below:

Academic Entry Requirements

  • Year 12 with a pass of 60% in best four academic subjects.

English Language Entry Requirements:

  • IELTS score 6.0 minimum (no lower than 5.5 in each band) or equivalent
  • No study gap

Graduates at this level will have skills for highly specialised work. Job roles and titles may vary but can include:

  • Network Security Specialist

After successfully achieving ICT50118 Diploma of Information Technology, candidates may undertake ICT60215 Advanced Diploma of Network Security

Students that successfully complete all 12 units of competency as stated in the Course Structure will be issued with ICT60215 Advanced Diploma of Network Security. This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)

Students that complete some but not all of the units of competency as stated in the Course Structure may be issued with a Statement of Attainment. It will identify only those units of competence that have been completed as part of the qualification and recognised nationally under the AQF
