Term 3 is just around the corner, and AHMI is gearing up to welcome students back on campus for an energising, supportive, and community-focused Welcome Week. Whether you're starting your first term or returning to continue your studies, this week is designed to help you settle in, reconnect, and start strong.
What to Expect During Welcome Week
1. Campus Welcome & Orientation Sessions
From 13 July, students will be greeted by our support team and guided through:
- Campus facilities and key locations
- Student services (academic support, wellbeing, admin help)
- Online learning systems and login setup
- Safety briefings and compliance reminders
These sessions ensure every student begins the term confident and prepared.
2. Program-Specific Kickoff Sessions
Each course — including new programs like Cyber Security and Engineering Fabrication — will have dedicated sessions covering:
- Trainer introductions
- Term outlines and assessment schedules
- Workshop or lab access procedures
- Industry expectations and employability pathways
This is your chance to meet your trainers and classmates and understand what's ahead.
3. Support Hub Pop-Ups
Throughout the week, AHMI will run drop-in stations to help with:
- USI and visa compliance
- Timetable questions
- IT support
- Academic planning
- Welfare and wellbeing referrals
If you need help, you'll find it quickly.
4. Workshop & Lab Inductions (for Trade & IT Students)
Students in hands-on programs will complete mandatory inductions covering:
- Workshop safety
- PPE requirements
- Equipment demonstrations
- Access protocols for fabrication labs, IT labs, and SOC environments
These sessions ensure you're ready to use AHMI's industry-standard facilities safely and confidently.
What You Should Bring on Day One
- Photo ID
- Laptop or tablet
- Notebook and pen
- Your timetable (digital or printed)
- Comfortable clothing (and PPE if required for your course)
