This qualification reflects the role of individuals who diagnose, analyse, evaluate, design and modify vehicle systems in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.
Students will work in an automotive workshop as highly skilled diagnosticians. They are responsible for diagnosing difficult faults and must be able to use highly technical diagnostic equipment and have a high level of understanding of vehicle and machinery systems.
AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology consists of twelve (12) units of competency, comprising 1 core unit and 11 elective units, in accordance with the packaging rules.

Students that successfully complete all 12 units of competency as stated in the Course Structure will be issued with AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology. This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Students that complete some but not all of the units of competency as stated in the Course Structure may be issued with a Statement of Attainment. It will identify only those units of competence that have been completed as part of the qualification and recognised nationally under the AQF.
